Federations & councils — required memberships for manufacturers, contractors, and exporters
Federation of Egyptian Industries, Contractors Federation & Export Council
Three federations matter for operating companies in regulated sectors. The Federation of Egyptian Industries (اتحاد الصناعات) carries 22+ specialised chambers and is the mandatory membership track for manufacturers, on a five-year industrial cycle. The Contractors Federation (اتحاد المقاولين) carries the registration and tier-classification track for construction and contracting businesses. The Export Council (المجلس التصديري) is the registration that unlocks Export Support Fund subsidies, which vary by sector and destination market. The work is procedural — the leverage is in keeping the memberships aligned with the underlying industrial register and tax file so customs, exports, and tender screenings clear cleanly.

When this track is the right fit
Best for
Manufacturers required to hold industrial chamber membership under the Federation of Egyptian Industries (mandatory, 5-year cycle)
Construction and contracting businesses registering with the Contractors Federation for the first time or upgrading their tier classification
Exporters registering with the relevant Export Council and applying for Export Support Fund subsidies
Operating companies preparing for a renewal cycle or remediating a lapsed membership that has blocked customs or tender access
When something else fits better
Not for
Operational compliance is sequenced. The cross-links below go to the track that should come first or instead.
You are still in the operating-license / industrial register phase
Chamber membership comes after the industrial register certificate. If you do not yet have the register, the licensing pillar covers the operating license and register-issuance tracks first.
See the social insurance track →Pure trading or services — no manufacturing, contracting, or export activity
Trading-only and service businesses generally do not carry chamber or Export Council membership. Bookkeeping and tax compliance stay under the standard Compliance retainer.

Food manufacturers carry both chamber membership (Food Chamber under FEI) and the Food Safety Authority track. The food-safety page covers the NFSA layer.

How the engagement runs
01
Discovery — which federations apply
Free 30-minute call. We map the establishment's actual activity to the federation(s) that apply: industrial chamber, Contractors Federation, Export Council. For manufacturers we also confirm which of the 22+ chambers is the correct primary affiliation.
02
Document audit
Document audit against the current federation checklists. For new applications we identify gaps; for renewals we confirm the prior file is in order; for tier upgrades we benchmark the portfolio against the next-tier threshold.
03
Filing and follow-through
Filings at the relevant federation under written authority from you. For tier upgrades and Export Council applications we coordinate the supporting submissions and follow the file through review.
04
Membership in hand + subsidy planning
Once memberships are live, we model the Export Support Fund subsidies the establishment qualifies for and structure the supporting documentation to maximise capture per shipment.
05
Renewal calendar handover
Annual federation renewals and the 5-year industrial cycle logged into the calendar. Optional ongoing reminder service so the next renewal is never missed.
